The RR Academy offers lessons in piano and theory. Piano lessons include the study of ear-training, while theory lessons include the study of harmony, history, composition, and musical literacy.

Being a musician is as demanding as it is satisfying.
The study of music is among the highest of disciplines.
In many ways, music lessons are a form of apprenticeship. Musicianship is developed through years of hard work, great attention to detail, and diligent practice sessions attentive to the guidance of your teachers.
Studying music is not easy. It requires many committed hours of independent practicing, listening, and reading. Your teacher’s experience will guide you through the various challenges you will face as you begin your long journey of development as an artist.
Gaining knowledge of great composers through additional study is imperative to developing oneself as a musician. Listening to others make music is a critical part of learning how to make music oneself.
Performing is an essential part of musicianship. When shared with others, music comes alive and achieve it’s true purpose as a tool of communication. Through an immersive experience in music, individuals can discover their own potential as an artist. Engaging in frequent performances is necessary to a cohesive experience as a student of the arts. Music is, after all, a performing art, and only through performance is musical education realized in its true meaning.
Piano Lessons
Piano lessons meet weekly at a regular scheduled time. Lessons are available in person and online.
Students are expected to practice daily. Only through thoughtful, disciplined, and structured practice can progress be made.
It is recommended that all piano students pursue studies in theory so as to gain further understanding of the music that they play.
Theory Lessons
Theory lessons meet weekly at a regular scheduled time. Lessons are available in person and online.
Theory homework is assigned and marked weekly.
Progress is achieved through consistent and continual study, with the requirement that material is adequately understood prior to the scheduling of any exams. Through consistent and thoughtfully executed homework, the study of theory will serve the student to it’s maximum potential.
